Keyword Tools are extremely important when it comes to creating a new site or looking for a new niche. Keywords are the most important part of any online campaign and this is where most new marketers fail. There is no point to do any work on a keyword that is sometimes unattainable or have no traffic. What do I mean about unattainable? It is nearly impossible to rank number 1 on Google for such keywords as “diets”, “Iphone”, “dating”, “Online Marketing”, etc. These example keywords are not impossible to rank for but it is very difficult and it will take a long time and money. We need to start small and get some money flowing and then we can tackle bigger keywords.
New marketers are taught to look for gold nugget keywords when searching for a new niche. What I refer to gold nugget keywords are keywords that produce high search volume and have low competition. These are very hard to find but every once in a while a gold nugget will appear. I have yet to find a Gold nugget keyword but I have not lost faith, one day I will find one and turn that keyword into my personal ATM machine.
I personally use 2 keyword tools; Google Adwords Keyword Tools and Keyword Optimizer Pro. Both these keyword tools are free and pretty easy to use.
The Google Adwords Keyword Tool is a tool offered to google adsense users, so an account registration is a must. It is a basic tool that will give you “Competition” and “Monthly Search Volumes” for each keyword that you input. What sets this tool apart from other Free Keyword Tools is that you can enter a competing website url it will give you keywords that relate to that website.

Keyword Optimizer Pro is a FREE Tool that is in it’s Beta stages that find long tail keywords for the keywords you already want to target. For example: Lets say you want to create a site for the “HCG Diet” once you have completed your research with the Adsense Keyword Tool and your ready to create content for your HCG Diet Site you plugin “HCG Diet” into Keyword Optimizer Pro and it will return some keywords such as:
- HCG Diet Reviews
- HCG Diet Plans
- HCG Diet Dangers
- HCG Diet Side Effects
- HCG Diet Drops
etc.
The tool will return a lot of keywords that you will insert into Google Adsense Keyword Tool and then you will select the keywords you want to target. You might find a gold nugget! Keyword Optimizer Pro is a downloadable program that runs on your computer and it is user friendly.

Some things to consider about backlinks:1. Age affects all backlinks. Google specifically weighs a backlink more with age. Backlinks gain in weight over time until after around 6 months they reach their full weight. Basically, it means that the effort you do building backlinks will be worth more and more.
